Accounting Clerk/Administrative Support - Full-time (Camrose/Remote)
Job description:
SCN Nichols is seeking an exceptional and dynamic individual to fill the role of Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant based in Camrose, Alberta. The successful candidate will provide bookkeeping and administrative support, be able to anticipate needs for the office and team and support the owner to run a successful operation.
Ideally this is a hybrid position, meaning preference will be given to applicants local to Camrose. However, highly qualified remote candidates should apply, as they will be considered.
Responsibilities
The Accounting Clerk/Administrative Support role includes the following responsibilities and duties:
Accounting Clerk Responsibilities
- Updating financial records
- Importing and exporting various documents into internal systems
- Uploading and distributing invoices to relevant parties
- Collecting accounts receivable (AR) and post payments from customers
- Communicating with clients to follow up on outstanding receivables
- Reconciling AR sub ledgers with general ledgers weekly and monthly
Administrative Support Responsibilities
- Performing data entry
- Answering client inquiries by phone or email
- Providing administrative support to office and field staff
- Coordinating meetings
- Performing ad-hoc duties as required
Requirements
The Accounting Clerk/Administrative Support should have the following skills, education and experience:
- Completion of a Certificate/Diploma in Business, Accounting, or related discipline
- 1+ years’ of experience in Accounts Receivable, Collections, Accounting or similar data entry experience
- Knowledge of accounting processes and terminology
- 1+ years’ of experience in administrative or similar office experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with networked office environment and ability to learn new software.
- Experience with varying internal systems an asset
- Problem solving skills
- Interpersonal skills to represent the company in a professional and ethical manner, to work on a team and to communicate effectively
- Strengths in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion
- Time management skills to ensure month/quarter-end responsibilities are on time and accurate
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve
- Ability to multitask and be detail oriented
